Mr. Smarty Pants

He's a handsome little devil!
It's official! Jordan graduated from UofW on Friday, December 2nd. We were all so, so proud of him! He has worked so hard at school, and it definitely paid off. He was one of the few in his class that graduated cum laude. He is definitely Mr. Smarty Pants. I'm so grateful for Jordan and how hard he worked for his degree. He always put forth his very best. He never slacked on any assignment or homework. Even when I would try to convince him it's ok if you don't get 100% on every single assignment, he would take the time to do it right. It's not easy going to school, working, and having a pretty stressful calling, but he never complained. He's a stud and I just thought everyone should know! :)

We're Alive!!

I've been taking a break from blogging. Not because we haven't had things to blog about (we have been busy little bees lately) but simply because I'm lazy. There, I said it. I'm going to start doing better. It's my new year's resolution started a month early.
We have had an exciting last few months. Here's a break down of what we've been up to:
  • Went to Utah for one of my best friends wedding.
  • Got to love and kiss on some of the cutest nephews in the world.
  • Celebrated Halloween by having only one trick-or-treater who was possibly the cutest little monkey we have ever seen. Too bad we didn't have any candy to give him!
  • Made a quick trip to Arizona for my sisters baby shower, where I got to see some of the other cutest nephews ever.
  • Planned a Ward Talent show with the young women.
  • Tried to teach the young women how to do a hand jive.....I should never be a teacher.
  • Had an awesome Thanksgiving with the in-laws.
  • Had a great family christams party in the woods with the in-laws.

Of course I didn't get any pictures of any of these great things. I'm a slacker. It's also one of my new year's resolutions to start taking more pictures. Lucky for me we have some pretty big events just around the corner that will help me in my resolution endeavors. Some of these events include :

  • Jordan graduating from college.
  • Our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY in T-minus 16 days.
  • A journey to Arizona for a Hall family Christmas extravaganza!

Not to mention all the other lovely things that go on during the Christmas season. So, you better all get ready for some seriously exciting new posts.....or don't. Whatever. :)

Family times are the best of times...

Please excuse my lack of blogging. We have had lot's going on, but sadly I have no pictures to document any of the things that we have done. I feel like I'm not cool enough to write a post with out a picture to go with it. You would all stop reading my blog if that was the case! But you may just have to suffer through one, just this once.

Anyway, this past weekend my parents and sisters came for a visit! It was so great to see them and spend time with them. I love my sisters. They truly are my best friends. I love and look up to them so much. We are true sisters in every sense of the word. We know how to push each other's buttons and get on one another's last nerve. But we also know how to laugh and have a blast together. I'm so lucky to have the big sisters that I do. Having them come visit us in little ol' Laramie was so awesome! We were SO happy to have them and want them to come back right away!

It was equally awesome to get to see my mom and dad. They are just the best. My mom is so cute and stylish. I love talking to her and getting her opinion. It means so much to me because I want to be just like her when I grow up. And my dad is pretty funny. He is the only one that can get me to laugh when I'm in a bad mood. I also believe he has some of the funniest sayings in the world. What would we do without Whompis to make us all laugh?

I have been blessed with SUCH an awesome family. Then I got even more blessed when I married into the Sheets family. I am definitely a very lucky girl!

PS- we are always accepting visitors so come on by! We'd love to have you sleep on our floor! :)

Labor Day Weekend

I love Labor Day. Summer is coming to an end, and fall is right around the corner. It's pretty much my favorite time of year. I also love this time of year because it marks our one year engagement! It was exactly one year ago that we went ring shopping and got this beauty....

*Please disregard our ugly purple/red hands in this picture. It was a toasty 16 degrees on the day we took our pictures, and I was pretty sure my hands were falling off.
I love my ring. I have always wanted a pearl, and even though it was a tad difficult to get a salesman to sell us one for my engagement ring, we finally found it.

I also love Labor Day because that's when Jordan's family has their reunion. 3 days of camping, eating, games, eating, reading, eating, and relaxing. It's pretty much the greatest time ever. Last year was so fun, and this year didn't disappoint either! Here's a few snapshots of what went on....

*we're dorks. Let's be honest, my funny face is 10 times better than Jordan's.

* Leith and Jordan. Yay for brothers. We just needed Cam and Preston to jump in to make the picture complete.

* T-man and Aunt Steph. They love each other.

*Steph and her sexy face. OW OW!!

* Jordan's sexy face....He should quit school and be a model, right? ;)

*Teagan got to escape from the heat and go swimming. I wanted to join him, but he wouldn't share. Good thing he's so stinking cute!

* Too bad Leith and Brittany like him. We'd steal him in a minute if we thought we could get away with it.

* And here we are, just being happy.

Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make the reunion fabulous! We're so lucky to just be able to show up and get pampered!

My husband is awesome....

Today at work, I got a craving for a cream soda. Kind of weird because I don't drink soda often, and when I do it's Dr. Pepper I want. But, for some unknown reason, a cream soda sounded delicious. I decided to text Jordan about my craving, just because. I told him we should get one as a treat this weekend. I thought that by telling myself we would have one this weekend, my craving would lessen....but it didn't. Not even thirty minutes later, Jordan came into the office with a cream soda. :)
Ya, he's pretty great.

An Adventurous Weekend

This past weekend was fairly adventurous. Jordan goes back to school next week so we decided we needed one last HOO-RAH before he was slaving away at school. Plus, I quit my awful job at the bank and am starting at a doctors office Monday, so we decided a celebration weekend was in order. Friday after work, we headed down to Denver and ate some delicious food, and stayed at an awesome hotel with a king sized bed. We were both quite thrilled to have the king sized bed. We both woke up at different times in the night and were reaching out trying to feel where the other one was. It was fabulous. We woke up Saturday and went to the temple. It was perfect. Just what we needed to rejuvenate us. Such a great place to start off your weekend!!

Funny story about this picture....we were standing at the bottom of the hill waiting for someone to come along so we could have them take a picture. A few people passed us by that were rushing to get to one of the 800 wededings that were taking place. Seriously, brides everywhere. We had to come out of the temple smiling because we knew we would be in someone's picture. There was just no getting around it. Anyway, we finally found someone to take our picture; a friendly looking man who was more than happy to do it. You might be able to tell from our squinty eyes that the sun was a tad bright. It literally brought tears to my eyes. The man thought I was crying because I was moved at being at the temple or something. He instantly became semi-creepy when he reached in and wiped the tears off my cheek. Don't get me wrong, I was thankful that he took the picture, but wiping the tears off my cheek was not needed......

After the temple we headed out of the city and into the beautiful mountains. We had both been wanting to go river rafting all summer. I had gone a few summers earlier with my sisters and had a blast and I wanted Jordan to see what it was all about. The trip defintely did not disappoint. We had tried to book an advanced trip, which is the one my sisters and I had done before, but they told us at this water level it would be more along the lines of an intermediate level. I was a little sad, but once we got on the water I realized there was nothing to be sad about! Our trip started out nice and slow, like this......

But then it suddenly became like this!!!!

Don't waste time trying to find us in the photos. I got them off their website. The place we went wanted $30 for ONE picutre on a CD. But I promise you I am not exaggerating on the intensity level. It was AWESOME! Our group was pretty interesting as well. We started out with Jordan and another strong looking boy up front, with me and the boys brother in the middle. About 5 seconds into the trip we realized it wasn't working out. The two brothers were impossible. They didn't stop arguing the entire time. Plus they stunk at rowing. When we reached a calm spot, the guide had me go in front with Jordan and the two brothers went to the middle. They were mad I was in front, but really, it might have saved our lives. There were many times the guide would get so mad at them for not following his instructions that he yelled and cursed at them. It was hilarious. Next time we hope to have enough people to fill our own raft so as not to chance it with another pair of weirdos.

We absolutely LOVE rafting and plan to make it an annual trip. And THAT, my friends, was our adventurous weekend.

The CORRECT way to eat Lucky Charms

Growing up, I was a BIG fan of Lucky Charms. I mean really, what's not to love?? All that magical marshmallow goodness, mixed with the sweet and satisfiying cereal crunchies. Magic in a box. Every summer we would take a trip to visit our grandparents and my Grandma would ALWAYS have these for us. It was awesome. My mom wouldn't get them for us very often. Something about no nutritional value was her reasoning......Anyway, Grandma Goose came to the rescue. Heidi and I would pretty much leap for joy when we would wake up and find Lucky Charms waiting for us on the kitchen counter.

The other week, I was preparing to go to Girls Camp ( what an experience THAT turned out to be ) and in the craziness Jordan and I didn't really have time to go grocery shopping. It wasn't that big of a deal, because most of the week I was going to be at camp, so we just needed the basics to keep Jordan alive while I was gone. On a quick trip to the store, we happened across this magical cereal. We couldn't resist. We went home and opened them immediately. I was taking a moment to slowly savor my little bowl of pure joy, when I noticed Jordan eating them ALL WRONG. Everyone knows you eat all the cereal crunchies FIRST, being careful not to eat even one magical marshmallow. Well, I guess not everyone knows that because Jordan was just spooning away. I was a little offended. I tried to correct him, but he paid no attention. He continues to eat them incorrectly. Oh well, he has no idea what he's missing!

Now you must go out and pour yourself a big bowl. I promise you won't regret it!
