Fishing with Dad

We took Nixon on his first "fishing" trip. We didn't go far and we didn't stay long, but when you are working with the attention span of an almost 2 year old, you can't stay in one place for long anyway. We went to Salem Pond and played on the playground and walked around the pretty park they had there. We all took a turn at casting, but both mom and Nixon got a little bored, so we decided to go exploring and let the real fisherman do his work. Not even 5 minutes later, Jordan was calling us over to let Nixon reel in his catch. It wasn't big, but it was something! Nixon thought the fish was awesome, but the fishing part was boring. Maybe he takes after his mom on this one.......

Stewart Falls

We decided to go for a little family hike one weekend and decided on Stewart Falls up Provo Canyon. It was a fairly easy hike, and the view was beautiful. Nixon didn't know how to feel about being in the carrier, but for the most part did a pretty good job. We love living so close to such beautiful places, and hope to take more advantage of living here!

Nixon's first Camping trip

At the end of August, we were invited by some friends in our ward to go camping with them. Jordan and I both like to camp, but since Nixon has been here, we haven;t been brave enough to try out our tent with him. We decided to give it a go and see what happens. It was such a fun weekend! We had delicious food, great company and lots of fun. Nixon was a pro camper and didn't make a peep either of the nights we were there. He even slept straight through a rain storm. We were seriously impressed and excited that we can now resume camping!
One downer of the trip was the Nixon had his first near death experience. We were camping in Hobble Creek Canyon at Jolly's Ranch. It has a nice little playground there for the kids, so we had gone over and were letting Nixon and the other kids play. He was at the top of the tallest slide, when he started to back up and fell down a hole that was in the center of the top. We hadn't realized there was a ladder that went to the center of the platform, and Nixon fell right down it. He fell about 10 ft and hit his head on all the rungs of the ladder on his way down. It was one of the scariest moments of my life to just stand there and watch him fall. He landed right on his back and didn't move or make a sound for a minute. He had bitten his tongue and was bleeding, but at first we didn't know where the blood was coming from. Thankfully he wasn't hurt too badly other then a few bumps on his head and his tongue. Other than that, the weekend went without a hitch and we had such a blast! Sadly we didn't get many pictures....live and learn!

Sandbox fun

Nixon LOVED the sand at the Bear Lake. He would have spent the whole day there if we would have let him. When we got home, Jordan went to work to build Nixon his own little sandbox. It has ben a constant source of entertainment for Nixon, and most of our days are spent out back digging in the sand and getting dirty!

South Family Reunion 2015

This year, we had our family reunion in Bear Lake. We all stayed in a HUGE cabin that had enough room for ALL of us and our crazy kids. We spent the days at the beach and the nights staying up late and laughing. I love my extended family so much. I feel so blessed to have the family that I have. I don't think many families grow up being as close to their cousins as we are and I'm hoping that our kids will feel the same way about their cousins and second cousins.
Sadly, poor grandma goose had quite the spill earlier this summer, and broke her neck, ribs and wrist. She was still in the rehab center when it was time for our family reunion, so she wasn't able to come and enjoy the time with us like we all wished she could have. We decided that since she had helped plan, pay and organize the reunion, we needed to go and spend some time with her as well. As many of us that could went down and surprised her for lunch. Her and Grandpa Burt have built quite the legacy, and we are all so grateful and blessed to be able to be apart of their family.

We went on a date to Pickleville Playhouse and saw "The Drowsy Chpaerone". It was funny and always a treat to go on a date with Jordan.

The beach tuckered Nixon right out and he fell asleep cuddled up with his momma.

Heading back to the cabin after a successful day of jet-skiing and water trampolining!

All the little people. It was wild with this many littles in one place, but SO fun!

Our cabin, the picture doesn't do it justice, but it was HUGE and beautiful.

Jason and Jenn brought a pinanta for all the little kids to take a whack at. It was hilarious to see them all trying to break it. Nixon thought it was especially fun.

Our lunch with Grandma Goose. I just think Bridger, Nixon and Ren have super funny faces, so we had to zoom in on this one.

Grandma with all the great grandkids who could come to the lunch.

Love my Mom and these 2 little people so much!

Happy Birthday, America!!

I love the 4th of July. Growing up in Eagar, it's impossible not to love this holiday. Our town does the 4th of July proud. Sadly, we weren't able to go to Eagar for the 4th this year, but luckily, we were able to go to Idaho Falls to visit Leith, Brittany, and the boys. We have MISSED them since moving, and it was so fun to be able to spend the long weekend with them. We had all sorts of shenanigans with our three crazy boys, but we wouldn't have it any other way!

Girls Camp

At the end of June I was able to go to Girls Camp with the Jordan Willows 1st Ward. It was such an amazing time, and I am so grateful I got to go. Camp was ward based this year, so we decided to go to the Manti Pageant. It was a great time and I was able to get to know the girls and the other leaders so much better. We had delicious food, stayed in cabins (no tents for us!) and just had a great time. The camp director did such a great job at planning and organizing everything. It was a testimony builder for sure.

Lagoon 2015

This summer was fun filled and BUSY. We had such a great time and are sad to see summer go. We were able to go spend the day at Lagoon with the Sheets in June. It was a fun day, and Nixon had a blast on the rides. We didn't get a lot of pictures because we were too busy having fun, but we got a few!
