I love blogs. In fact an embarrassingly large chunk of my day is spent looking at them. I even started to think in "blog posts". Something funny or embarrassing or lame would happen to me and I would start thinking about how I would write about it if I had a blog. I know, I'm kind of a weirdo. Why didn't I just start a dang blog then? Well, I was nervous that we live way too boring of lives to interest any of you cool people. However, I finally caved to my secret wish, and started one. So here goes my first ever post.....
Once upon a time there was an awesome boy and an awesome girl. They met at a mission farewell for the awesome girl's cousin. They had seen each other before, and had even talked a few times, but the timing wasn't quite right. This time, however, the timing was just perfect. The awesome girl was stranded at her aunts house (because her parents forgot that they had a fifth child and left the party without her). It was a tad embarrassing to be left at her aunt's house by her parents, but she shrugged it off. Her cousin would give her a ride home when he took his girlfriend home. Sure, it would be awkward being the third wheel, but she was ok with that. Then, the awesome boy who made her more than slightly nervous, offered to take her back into town. She couldn't say no, because that's rude and her mother had taught her better than that. So, into the car they went. She babbled on about stupid things pretty much the entire way to her grandparents. Hardly taking a breath or letting the awesome boy say much of anything. Then came one of the most awkward moments. They were parked in the driveway of her grandparents. The awesome girl could see how nervous he was.....should he walk her to the door, or just let her go it alone? The awesome girl had to hold back the laugh as she watched him panic. Being the nice girl she is, she took matters into her own hands, let out a "thanks for the ride!" and pretty much ran to the front door. Once she got inside, she was more than a tad sad that she would never see the awesome boy again.
The next day, the girl started on the long drive back to Arizona. One of her very best friends in the entire world was getting married that weekend, and she wasn't about to miss it. The entire 12 hour drive she thought of the boy. Then, to make matters worse, one of her cute cousins (who happens to be married to the awesome boys brother) texted her asking about the ride home. The girl tried to play it cool, so she just said it was fine. Then the cousin said the boy had asked for her number. The girl couldn't believe it. She was so happy in fact, she had to call her sister. Again she tried to down play how twitterpated she was about this boy. However, her sister could see right through her. "He probably won't even call." the awesome girl told her. The sister disagreed and the two hung up. Not even 5 minutes later, the girls phone rang. It was the awesome boy! They talked every night the girl was in Arizona. And when she went back to school, they continued to talk. Soon their first "date" was scheduled. The girl was freaking out. What if it went bad? What if it went well? The first date came and went, and it was great. They spent the day with his family, and the girl felt right at home. She was falling fast. But they still hadn't kissed. Everyone knows that kissing someone is the best way to figure out how you REALLY feel. They were at the end of the date, standing awkwardly on her aunts doorstep. The awesome boy was nervous, and instead of going for the kill, he opted to shake the awesome girls hand. It was AWKWARD. The girl couldn't hold it in, she burst out laughing at him and began teasing him relentlessly for the hand shake. The awesome boy knew he had to redeem himself, so he bucked up his courage, and planted one right on her lips. From then on, it was history. Two weeks later, they were engaged, and three months later they were married for time and eternity in the Logan temple. It was FAST, completely insane, but most of all, it was meant to be.

Thanks for sharing the "awesome girl's" story! I am very happy for you!

Love the blog and the story, but the way I remember it the awesome girl's awesome parents waited for 15 minutes for the awesome girl to go to the grandparents house until the awesome girl FINALLY came out and told them the cousin would give her a ride home. Anyway - the awesome parents love the awesome boy, the awesome girl and the new blog.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I think the real hero in this story is the awesome girl's awesome sister. Doesn't she ALWAYS tell her awesome sister to be patient when waiting for phone calls? Didn't she tell the awesome girl that if the awesome boy wanted her phone number, it would be EXTREMELY easy for him to get it??? Just saying...that sister is amazing!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I love your blog. You guys are so cute! BTW, is "Little Sheets" significant? Are you trying to tell us all something??? ;)
Don't worry about being a dork with a blog. Heidi has one too.
