Trip back home

We were able to go to Arizona for a visit in September. It was so fun to be with family and spend some time together. Nixon and I were down for a week, and then Jordan joined us the next week. We got to be there for my birthday, so my sisters spoiled me pretty much the entire day, and then that evening us three went to dinner while Jake and Sam watched all the kids. Pretty brave of them, but all the little people were still alive when we got back. It was so nice to spend some time with my sisters. There really isn't anything better than eating chocolate with your best friends!

We did all sorts of things while we were home. We swam in Heather's pool, and it was the first time that Nixon didn't cry the whole time we were swimming. I think that fact that it was 100 degrees outside made the water feel pretty darn good. We played with all our cousins and it was just great. We miss all of those little people and are sad that we don't get to see them as often as we'd like!

Once Jordan got into town, we went up to Eagar for a few days and it was perfect. We planned our trip around this time of year because it's about the only time of year that it's actually green, and I felt it was important for Jordan to see how beautiful Eagar can be. It did not disappoint. We were able to go hiking, bugling, driving on the mountain, horse rides with grandpa, and to the high school football game. It was so nice and so fun to be able to spend some time at home with my mom and dad. They spoiled us and we loved every second of it! I think Nixon is a fan of horses. We pretty much had to pry him down, and he had a huge grin on his little face the entire time. He is just the best little buddy. He was quite a hit at the football game and made friends with EVERYONE that was sitting even remotely close to us. He didnt' get much out of the actual game, but he sure was social! It was nice to go back home for a visit and show Jordan and Nixon a little more of where I grew up and let them see some of the reasons that I love that little valley so much.

10 Months and a new house!!

We have a new zip code! At the end of July, Jordan got a pretty unexpected job offer from a company in Utah. At first we didn't really know what to think about it. We have never had much interest in living in Utah, but were ready for a change from Billings. It didn't take long to realize that we were supposed to take the job, so in a whirlwind of events we moved to Lehi, Utah! It's amazing how Heavenly Father really does take care of everything. We have been so blessed in this move, and even though I am so homesick for Billings and our amazing friends, we know that this new adventure is the right move for our family, and we are excited!
Nixon turned 10 months right after we moved into our new place. I can hardly believe that he is so old. It makes me so happy and so sad at the same time. He brings me so much JOY. Every morning I am excited for him to wake up so I can see his bright smile and hear his sweet little giggle. Being a mom is the best. It's also the hardest, but I am so happy that I get to stay home and experience the world through the eyes of my precious baby boy.

First Haircut

Honestly, it was not very fun. We both cried. But his new hairdo looks pretty snazzy!

8 Months

Each stage that Nixon goes through quickly becomes my favorite, and it's still true at 8 months. Nixon is the HAPPIEST kid in the world. He loves to grin and laugh and talk all day long. He is a master crawler and can get anywhere FAST....really. He's like lightening. His favorite game is to play horsey with Dad when he gets home from work. He also likes to sit in the recliner like a big boy. He thinks he's so cool......we do, too!!

7 Months

7 months was an exciting age for Nixon. He started eating all sorts of foods. He LOVED all veggies, and pretty much HATED all sorts of fruits. His very favorite foods were mixed vegetable gerber food, which included spinach, carrots, peas, and green beans all mixed together......I'm not complaining that he loves veggies! He also started CRAWLING!! He is now officially into EVERYTHING. It's pretty fun to have a mobile child now.

Father's Day

For Father's Day, I had one of my friends come and take some pictures of Nixon that I could give to Jordan to take to work with him. We had so much fun, and Nixon was a pretty fabulous model.

6 Months

6 months was a great age for Nixon! He started rice cereal and liked it ok....but he wasn't crazy over it. The weather started to warm up and we tried all sorts of new things, like going to the lake, having picnics outside, and lots of stroller rides with mom. He also liked to tell us all sorts of stories and became even more vocal than normal. We love our little Nikken man!
