We spent Christmas this year with the Sheets. We had so much fun and were spoiled rotten. Unfortunately, Nixon got his first ear infection on Christmas Eve, which made for kind of a rotten holiday. Poor little guy was miserable and wouldn't sleep which resulted in jordan and I being miserable and not sleeping. :) Despite having a sick kid, we really did have a great time. It is always such a blessing to be around family and be reminded what Christmas is all about. We are so blessed to have people in our lives who love us unconditionally.
Christmas is easily my favorite time of year. I love the songs, decorations, food, smells.....everything. It really is a magical time, and each year I am more excited for it to come around. Last year, Nixon was only 5 weeks old. There is something so precious and holy about having a baby around Christmas. It makes the meaning of Christmas that much more real. I was worried that because Nixon is so much older that it might not feel as special as last year did, but luckily it felt even more sacred. How grateful I am for my Savior. I hope I can carry that spirit with me through the year.
Again, we didn't get many pictures. I guess that could be a New Year's resolution!

4 Years
Jordan and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary on December 17th. I can't believe it's been 4 years. We've lived in 4 different apartments, 3 different states, have had 6 different jobs between the two of us, and added a little boy to our family. It's been a crazy, stressful, joyful, tiring, magical, and eventful 4 years. It's hard to express how much I love and appreciate Jordan. I knew I loved him when we got married, but I didn't know how much or for all the different reasons. We've grown and changed in these past 4 years, but luckily the changes have been good and have brought us closer together. I am so grateful I get to share my life with this guy! He makes me want to be a better person. He teaches me everyday how to be better. I'm the luckiest and I can't wait to see what the next 50 years have in store for us!
Thanksgiving 2014
For Thanksgiving we went to Arizona to be with the Halls. It was the first time in a LONG time that all the siblings were together for Thanksgiving. The trip down was long and terrible. Nixon used to be such a great little traveler, but he was terrible. He pretty much cried the whole way. We left in the afternoon thinking that he would sleep most of the night, but he would only sleep for twenty minutes and then he would start crying. Despite it being the LONGEST drive of my life, we made it safe and sound. Because our family has outgrown our house, my mom and dad rented a house for the girls to stay at and it was so cute! It was just down the road from our house, so it was so nice to have a nice comfy bed to sleep in and then just walk over to see the whole family. We had too much fun to take any pictures. It was a little wild with all the grandkids together, but it was so fun. We road the horses, jumped on the trampoline, played with toys, played games and ATE. I don't think there is anything better than being with family. It reminds me who I am and where I came from and all that I have to be grateful for. It was a wonderful Thanksgiving and we were so happy that we all got to be together.

Nixon turns ONE!!!
I honestly can't believe that Nixon is 1 year old! Where did my little baby go? We have been so blessed to have his sweet little spirit in our home this last year. I have loved being his momma, and am amazed at how much joy he brings me on a daily basis.
For his birthday, we went up to Evanston and had a little party with Grandpa and Papa Sheets, Great Grandpa and Grandma Peterson, Grandma Goose, Uncle Preston and Aunt Stacie. He was a very spoiled and loved little boy.
Cruisin' on his new Jeep from Bonka and Gramma Kimmy
Sharing a pickle with Grandma. Good thing he got his favorite treat!
He was NOT a fan of the cake at first.
But he warmed up to it......
Lately
We met up with some friends at the zoo and had a great day! All the little together. Cute bunch.
Our second haircut was much better due to our favorite food item, the pickle.
Shopping with mom. It's hard work!
Nixon is the happiest kid I know. Lunch time is an especially festive time. He laughs and giggles and pretty much just makes my whole day.
He must think I'm pretty funny too.......
Lately, he will come and lay down right in-between my legs and wait until I tickle him. He does this ALL DAY LONG. It's cute, and slightly annoying. But mostly cute.

Trip back home
We were able to go to Arizona for a visit in September. It was so fun to be with family and spend some time together. Nixon and I were down for a week, and then Jordan joined us the next week. We got to be there for my birthday, so my sisters spoiled me pretty much the entire day, and then that evening us three went to dinner while Jake and Sam watched all the kids. Pretty brave of them, but all the little people were still alive when we got back. It was so nice to spend some time with my sisters. There really isn't anything better than eating chocolate with your best friends!
We did all sorts of things while we were home. We swam in Heather's pool, and it was the first time that Nixon didn't cry the whole time we were swimming. I think that fact that it was 100 degrees outside made the water feel pretty darn good. We played with all our cousins and it was just great. We miss all of those little people and are sad that we don't get to see them as often as we'd like!
Once Jordan got into town, we went up to Eagar for a few days and it was perfect. We planned our trip around this time of year because it's about the only time of year that it's actually green, and I felt it was important for Jordan to see how beautiful Eagar can be. It did not disappoint. We were able to go hiking, bugling, driving on the mountain, horse rides with grandpa, and to the high school football game. It was so nice and so fun to be able to spend some time at home with my mom and dad. They spoiled us and we loved every second of it! I think Nixon is a fan of horses. We pretty much had to pry him down, and he had a huge grin on his little face the entire time. He is just the best little buddy. He was quite a hit at the football game and made friends with EVERYONE that was sitting even remotely close to us. He didnt' get much out of the actual game, but he sure was social! It was nice to go back home for a visit and show Jordan and Nixon a little more of where I grew up and let them see some of the reasons that I love that little valley so much.
